Bowls Italia was born from a friendship. Over the years, Emanuela and Pietro developed a strong connection with members of the Malaysian International Bowling Federation, Zuraidi Puteh and Syed Zainal Abidin. Through their shared passion for the sport of bowls, conversations began to grow around the idea of bringing the game to a wider audience in Italy.

Inspired by the Malaysian approach to the sport and their dedication to developing bowls internationally, the idea of establishing a bowls association for Italy slowly began to take shape.

In 2025, what had once been a simple idea between friends started to evolve into something more meaningful — a vision for an organisation that could support, promote, and grow the sport of bowls in Italy.

In March 2026, that vision became a reality with the establishment of Bowls Italia.

​

Bowls Italia has also set out a five-year development plan focused on introducing the sport in Italy, building awareness, creating playing opportunities, and establishing a strong foundation for bowls to grow. Through community engagement, partnerships, and international connections, Bowls Italia aims to develop a thriving bowls community and give players the opportunity to be part of the global bowls family.

 

At the heart of this vision is a commitment to inclusivity, ensuring that people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities — including those with disabilities — have the opportunity to enjoy and participate in the sport.
